GENEVA, N.Y. – Sporting the most selections, the national champion East Stroudsburg University field hockey team had 24 student-athletes named to the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Academic Squad, the organization announced on Thursday.
Among those 24 recipients were six Warriors who were honored for the fourth time in their careers including Olivia Breen, Nicole Krozser, Grace Lesh, Emily Mehnert, Morgan Mesenbrink and Lia Parker
On Nov. 30, 2022, the Warriors received the Team GPA Award for having the top cumulative grade-point average (3.584) at the opening ceremony for the 2022 Division II Championships Festival.
Additionally, ESU has now posted the most National Academic Squad honorees for Division II in the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2022-23 academic calendar years.
318 student-athletes from 30 Division II institutions have been named to the 2022 NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors undergraduate collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
