NEW YORK, N.Y. – The East Stroudsburg University men's and women's track & field teams were represented by a quartet of throwers at the 115th Millrose Games on Thursday evening from the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.
Women's Throwers
Two-time All-American Elizabeth Makar highlighted the day for the Warriors as the sophomore recorded a personal-best toss of 16.86m (55-3 ¾) on her way to an eighth place finish in the weight throw. Makar's performance moved her up to second all-time in program history and the Oxford native was less than three inches from breaking the school record currently held by Me'Saj Closs (55-6 ½ - 2020).
Madison Horahan secured an 11th place finish in the event as the sophomore threw the weight 14.68m (48-9) on her second attempt.
Men's Throwers
Competing against some of the top competition in the country, Isaac Almoney grabbed a sixth place finish in the weight throw as the junior recorded a mark of 16.40m (53-9 ¾) on his second attempt. Daryn Blackwell was right behind in seventh place as the senior notched a throw of 16.33m (53-7) on his final throw.
