BETHLEHEM & PHILADELPHIA – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team began an action packed weekend at both the 127th Penn Relays and Covert Classic, hosted by Lehigh, on Friday.
Penn Relay Highlights
Running in the 4x400m at Franklin Field, Zandrew Bowe, Ryan Ditty, Caleb Carney, Tyler Boone clocked a time of 3:23.17 to finish as the runner-up in heat three and sixth overall. With the sixth place finish, the Warriors qualified to run in tomorrow's final at 5:40 p.m.
Two-time All-American Donavan Anderson recorded a seventh place finish in the long jump after recording a mark of 7.05m (23-1 ¾) on his first attempt and sophomore Jack Gorham took 18th after leaing 6.65m (21-10) on his final effort.
In the discus, sophomore Cole Gorham notched a 17th place finish with a throw of 46.68m (153-2) on his third attempt.
Zach Nissley secured a 15th place finish in the javelin after notching a mark of 50.85m (166-10) on his first throw of the afternoon.
Covert Classic Highlights
Josh Meshach, Isaac Almoney, Daryn Blackwell and Anthony Voto competed in the hammer throw as well as Seth Leonard in the javelin, but results were unavailable at this time.
