SLIPPERY ROCK – Highlighted by first place finishes from Donavan Anderson (triple jump) and Kobe Jenkins (110m hurdles) in their respective events, East Stroudsburg University men's track and field captured a third place finish in the team standings at the 2023 PSAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
On his way to claiming the top spot in the 110m hurdles, Jenkins clocked a personal-best and fourth fastest time in school history at 14.51. The Harrisburg native captured the seventh 100m hurdles title overall in program history and became the first Warrior to win the event since Steve Morgan in 2017.
Anderson captured ESU's eighth title in the triple jump and first since Drew Miller in 2010. The two-time All-American notched the fourth best jump in school history at 14.92m (48-11 1/2), which is also a NCAA provisional mark. The Bergenfield native claimed the conference titles for the triple jump at both indoor and outdoor championships.
The Warriors finished third in the team standings for the second consecutive season and seventh time in the last eight years. ESU totaled 115 points which was the most since 2015 (117).
Track Highlights
Beginning on the track with the 4x100m relay, Raul Esteves, Jared Williams, Zandray Thompson and Miguel Charlery combined to run a time of 42.31 for a fifth place finish.
Caleb Carney secured two points in the 100m hurdles for ESU after taking seventh with a time of 15.12.
In the 400m, the Warriors totaled four points as Zandrew Bowe took sixth with a time of 49.03, followed by Tyler Boone in eighth at 49.79.
Charlery continued to impress in his first season with the Warriors as he took third in 200m with a time of 21.57. The Saint Lucia native also recorded a fifth place finish in the 100m dash after crossing the line in 10.74.
With 21 runners competing in the finals of the 400m hurdles, Liam Beifus led a trio of Warriors in sixth place, posting a time of 54.76.
It came down to a photo finish in the 4x400m as Bowe, Ryan Ditty, Jaylen Morrison and Boone clocked the seventh fastest time in school history at 3:15.55 to finish as the runner-up. Shippensburg took first place at 3:15.48.
Field Highlights
The Warriors added eight points in the shot put as Cole Gorham took fourth with a personal-best and third furthest mark in school history at 16.39m (53-9 ¼). Freshman Anthony Voto continued to impress by taking sixth after recording the fifth best toss in the ESU record book at 15.83m (51-11 ¼).
In the high jump, freshman Daniel Smith finished fourth after eclipsing the bar at a personal-best mark of 1.98m (6-6), while Aaron Sanchez was tied for sixth at 1.93m (6-4).
Zach Nissley put together a career day in the javelin to take second place as the sophomore launched a personal-best and NCAA provisional mark of 61.04m (200-3) on his second attempt.

If selected, the Warriors who have recorded NCAA provisional marks or times in their respective events will head to Pueblo, Colorado for the Outdoor Championships on May 25-27.
