SPARKS, MD. — USA Lacrosse Magazine has announced that East Stroudsburg University's
Emily Mitarotonda,
Maggie Sell and
Kiki Fitzpatrick were honored on USA Lacrosse All-America Teams.
Mitarotonda and Sell were selected to the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America First Team, while Fitzpatrick was acknowledged as an honorable mention.
Mitarotonda, who has previously been named to the All-PSAC East First Team and IWLCA All-Region First Team, continued her illustrious career as a junior, recording 77 goals, 14 assists for 91 points through 19 games this season. Defensively, she has been a force with 43 caused turnovers and 68 ground balls. She also leads the Red and Black in draw controls with 93. In the home finale against Shippensburg, she became ESU's all-time leading scorer, becoming the first Warrior to reach 200-goal milestone. She is just nine points away from becoming ESU's career points leader.
Sell was named the PSAC East Defender of the Year, along with picking up all-conference first team honors and IWLCA All-Region First Team accolades. The senior ranks among the elite defenders in NCAA Division II with 38 caused turnovers and 66 ground balls this season, helping lead the charge defensively. She was a major cog in the Warriors ranking 21st in scoring defense. In 62 career games at ESU, the Perkiomenville native has totaled 98 caused turnovers and 162 ground balls. She has caused chaos in nearly every game, tallying at least one CT in 15 of 19 games, including causing a season-high six at Bloomsburg.
Fitzpatrick served as the distributor for the Warriors, posting a team-high 33 assists and ranks second on the squad in points (61) and draw controls (62). The Sayville, N.Y. native ranks fourth in the PSAC in assists, eighth in free-position goals per game, second in free-position percentage and 11th in points. She posted multiple points in all but three contests, including three-plus in 14 games. She is just six assists from 100 career assists and two points from reaching the 200-point mark.
