PUEBLO, CO. – Donavan Anderson concluded one the most historic individual seasons as the freshman earned All-America First Team honors after notching an eighth place finish in the long jump at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on Thursday evening at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.

Entering seeded 10th in a field of 19 total athletes and as the only freshman, the Bergenfield, N.J. native was second following the first flight where he notched his record-breaking jump on his second attempt at 7.63m (25-0 ½).

Recording the highest finish for the long jump in school history at the championships, Anderson is the eighth Warrior to become a three-time All-American, joining Travis Toth, Negus Graham, Rob Stone, Jim Lauck, Paul Ferency, Pete Heesen and Lenny Jenkins.

At the NCAA Indoor Championships back in March, Anderson earned a pair of Second Team All-America honors after placing ninth in the triple jump and 12th in the long jump.

During his first season of competition for the Warriors, Anderson was named the PSAC Men's Indoor Freshman of the Year, captured indoor and outdoor PSAC titles in the triple jump and set both program records for the long jump (indoor/outdoor).
