SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. VA. – Leading 2-0 in the first half, the ESU men's soccer team held on to defeat Shepherd, 4-2, in its first PSAC East win of the season on Saturday afternoon at the SU Soccer Complex.
With the win, the Warriors (4-0-1, 1-0-1 PSAC East) move to third place in the East Division with four total points. The Rams (1-4, 0-2 PSAC East) remain winless in conference matchups through two contests.
Notables
- Four different Warriors registered goals, including Nathan Bradway, Zach McKinney, Bradley Turocy and Ethan Flickinger. Ignasi Cucurella Tuset tallied the lone assiste for ESU on Flickinger's goal to wrap up ESU's scoring.
- The goals for McKinney, Turocy and Flickinger were the first of the season for the Warriors. The assist for Cucurella Tuset is his second of the season. The native of Spain now has 10 points on the season, which ranks second on the team.
- Andrew West and Justin Langon recorded goals for SU.
- ESU led 13-8 on shots, 8-4 on shots on goal, while both squads earned three corner kicks.
- The chippy contest featured six yellow cards, with four being issued to the Rams, while ESU was charged with a pair.
- Reigning PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week, Brayden Evans made two saves in the 90-minute performance, picking up his third win of the season.
