EDINBORO – The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team dropped their final PSAC crossover game of the season as Edinboro defeated the Warriors, 57-39, on Wednesday afternoon inside McComb Fieldhouse.
With each team playing their final crossover game of the season, the Warriors slipped to 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference while the Fighting Scots won their fifth consecutive game to move to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in the PSAC.
ESU was unable to overcome a slow start to the game as the Warriors found themselves trailing 31-16 following the first half after shooting just 5-for-21 (23.8%) compared to 12-for-26 (46.1%) for the Fighting Scots. In the second half, Edinboro proceeded to outscore ESU, 26-23, to earn the victory.
Notables 
	- In 17 minutes off the bench, junior Emily Chmiel poured in 11 points to go along with six rebounds and one block
- Playing 39 of 40 minutes, senior Carley Adams added eight points, four rebounds, two steals and a block. The North Wales native went 2-for-2 at the free throw line and is now shooting 31-for-34 (91.2%) overall at the stripe this season.
- Junior Katie Geisler (six rebounds, one assist), sophomore Adrine Demirciyan (one rebound and one steal), senior Gwenn Sabato (four rebounds, one assist) and sophomore Caitlin Marten (four rebounds) each scored four points
- Edinboro's Haley Sims, who ranks third in scoring in the PSAC, finished with 18 points, four rebounds, three steals and pair of assists. Morgan Gentile stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and a block.
- The Fighting Scots shot an efficient 22-for-51 (43.1%) overall from the field while the Warriors were 14-for-42 (33.3%)
- Both teams struggled from three-point range as the Fighting Scots went 2-for-13 (15.4%) compared to 0-for-7 (0.0%) for ESU
- At the free throw line, the Warriors shot 11-for-17 (64.7%) while Edinboro went a similar 11-for-19 (57.9%)
- ESU dominated the glass as the Warriors outrebound the Fighting Scots 39-25 overall and 12-5 on the offensive end
- Turnovers hindered ESU as Edinboro forced the Warriors into 25 miscues, which turned into 21 points, compared to only 11
- Edinboro finished the advantage in points in the paint (30-22) but the Warriors had the edge in second chance (14-5) and bench points (25-16)
- The Fighting Scots moved to 19-2 over ESU on the all-time series and have won 19 of the last 20 meetings dating back to 1993
How It Happened
	- Through the midway point of the first quarter, Edinboro jumped out to a 9-4 lead over ESU as Adams converted a pair of layups for the Warriors. Out of the media break, the Fighting Scots outscored ESU by three points (5-2) the rest of the way to give Edinboro a 14-6 advantage at the end of the first.
 
- Marten trimmed the Warriors' deficit to 14-8 to begin the second quarter with a putback layup, but the Fighting Scots answered with a 9-0 run over the next 2:24 to extend the lead to 23-8. The Warriors scored four consecutive points out of a timeout to get within 11, but a quick 4-0 spurt from Edinboro pushed the edge back to 27-12. Over the final 1:51 of the first half, the teams combined for eight points as the Fighting Scots went into the break ahead 31-16.
 
- The teams went back and forth through the first five minutes of the second half as the Warriors outscored Edinboro by one point (7-6) to make the score 37-23 in favor of the Fighting Scots. Over the final 3:55 of the period, ESU scored five of the final nine points to pull within 13 at 41-28.
 
- A personal 5-0 run to open the fourth quarter from Chmiel got the Warriors within striking distance at 43-33, but the Fighting Scots battled back with a 6-0 spurt to extend the lead to 49-33. ESU would get as close as 49-35 with 5:28 to go as Edinboro earned a 57-39 victory.
