Kotula Registers Pair of Goals to Lift ESU Past Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – After registering her first goal of the season against Millersville on Saturday, graduate student midfielder Rebecca Kotula notched two goals to lift the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday afternoon at Investors Savings Bank Field.

The Warriors (4-2-2) bounce back after falling to Millersville over the weekend. The Lions (6-3) see their three-match winning streak halted.

Notables

Kotula scored in each half, scoring in the 30th minute of action to break the scoreless tie. The Wyomissing native gave ESU insurance by capitalizing on a pass from Emily Wineburg in the 47th minute. She now has three goals over her past two contests, tallying her 19th and 20th goal of her career in the outing. Her three goals and six points now lead the Warriors.

The Warriors held dominant advantages in shots (24-4) and shots on goal (11-1). GCU totaled four corner kicks to ESU's three.

GK Emmy Clarkson etched her fifth shutout in eight games this season, making a save on her lone opportunity on goal. The junior now has 19 career shutouts, which ranks fourth all-time in program history.

GCU counterpart Delanie Wilkinson posted nine saves in the loss for the Lions.
