The Foe

The Bald Eagles (3-4) are coming off a 35-32 win over Bloomsburg. Despite their record, they’ve been competitive, with three of their four losses decided by one possession, including close games against IUP (20-17), California (Pa.) (27-20), and Shepherd (45-38). Quarterback Jackson Ostrowsky, a graduate transfer from Rhode Island, leads the PSAC with 293.7 passing yards per game, ranking seventh nationally. He’s also thrown 15 touchdowns this season, placing 20th in NCAA Division II. His favorite target is T’iar Young, a Millersville transfer, who ranks second in the PSAC and 11th in the nation with 700 receiving yards this season.

ESU holds a 16-8 lead in the all-time series against Lock Haven, with the first matchup dating back to 1926. The Warriors have won the last four meetings, with their most recent loss to the Bald Eagles coming in 2018. Since 1999, ESU has won 12 of the last 14 games in the series.

Tahir Mills ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-clinching 32-yard score. Tyriq Lewis added 108 yards and two touchdowns, including a 48-yard run in the first quarter. This was the first time since 2014 that two ESU players scored multiple rushing touchdowns in a game, and the first time since 2013 that two players each rushed for over 100 yards.

Dynamic Duo: Mills & Lewis

Mills and Lewis form one of the most productive backfield duos in the country, combining for 1,133 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns over seven games. They average 6.4 yards per carry, ranking second nationally in combined rushing yards, behind only Charleston’s Chavon Wright (1,297 yards). ESU leads the PSAC in rushing with 217.4 yards per game, ranking 13th nationally.

Sean McTaggart: Mr. Efficiency
