Warriors Draw with Millersville, 2-2
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Trailing 2-1 early in the second half, Natalie Schooley scored the equalizer on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute as the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team tied 2-2 with Millersville on Wednesday at Pucillo Field.
The Warriors (5-3-6, 3-3-6 PSAC East) earned their third consecutive draw. With the tie, the Marauders (6-4-4, 5-4-4 PSAC East) remain four points ahead of ESU in the PSAC East standings, holding fifth place.
Notables
- Along with Schooley's equalizer, Millie Smith opened the scoring in the fourth minute with an unassisted goal, angling a shot from the far side into the near corner. It marked Smith's first goal of the 2024 season.
- Schooley's penalty kick in the 63rd minute was her second goal of the season.
- Maddie Zielke tied the game at 1-1 for Millersville in the 31st minute, and Aalivia Wainright gave the Marauders a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute.
- Emmy Clarkson made one save for ESU. Millersville's Sabrina Zimmerman and Emma Moss split time in goal, combining for five saves.
- ESU held an edge in total shots (12-7) and shots on goal (7-3), while Millersville led in corner kicks (8-6).
