LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After leading the No. 3 East Stroudsburg University field hockey team with three goals and three assists, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that senior midfielder Jady van Gils was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week.

In a 2-1 week against No. 2 Kutztown, Frostburg State, and Mansfield, van Gils contributed at least two points in each contest. She tallied an assist on all three of ESU's goals in a 4-3 overtime loss to the nationally ranked Golden Bears. She then opened the scoring with two goals in the first six minutes of action against Frostburg State. In the 2-1 triumph over Mansfield, van Gils posted the game-winning goal in the 36th minute after a scoreless first half.

Among conference players this season, van Gils ranks second in goals (T-2nd, 10), assists (7), and points (27). Among NCAA Division II players, the native of the Netherlands ranks seventh in assists, sixth in goals per game, and fourth in points per game.

The Warriors and van Gils return to Whitenight Field on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m. to face Millersville.
