LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After nearly averaging a 20-point double-double in a week against two top-10 nationally ranked teams, Emily Chmiel won her second PSAC East Athlete of the Week award of the season. She is the first player in program history to win two PSAC East Athlete of the Week awards in November.
Two weeks ago, Chmiel won the award for the first time. After a break last week, the Warriors returned to action against the No. 4 and No. 10 teams in the country. In those contests, she averaged 18.5 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the floor, and helped limit both teams below their scoring average.
Against No. 10 Jefferson, Chmiel posted a 22-point, six-rebound, two-block performance. Versus No. 4 Gannon, she recorded a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double and reached 1000 career points.
Chmiel's three double-doubles are tied for sixth in Division II, with five players recording four. She is one of three Division II players with three double-doubles in four games played.
The Warriors play tomorrow against Lincoln at 7 p.m. inside Koehler Fieldhouse. Lincoln has played two other PSAC teams so far, losing 71-61 and 64-51 to Kutztown and Shippensburg, respectively.
