Kyler Wuestner were among 1,988 college football players honored on the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honors Society, the organization announced on Wednesday.
ESU's six selections are a new program-high and are tied for the PSAC lead with with California (Pa.) and Shippensburg.
Blackwell, a William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalist, graduated with his bachelor's degree in sports management from ESU in 2022 and a master's degree in management and leadership in sport management in 2023, and an additional master's degree in sports administration. He graduated with a 3.77 GPA as an undergraduate and earned Summa Cum Laude honors with his master's degree. A four-year starter, he closed his Warrior career with 104 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, an interception and four fumble recoveries. The Toms River, N.J. native is a rare two-sport athlete, serving as a captain for the ESU men's track and field team as a three-time all-conference honoree and is a two-time all-region selection. He is currently playing professionally for Winterthur Warriors in Switzerland.
Davanzo holds a 3.72 GPA as a biology major. A native of Bangor, Davanzo is a four-year dean's list student and a three-time PSAC Scholar Athlete. During his football career, the safety registered 12 tackles, a pass breakup and recovered a fumble. He plans to attend medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon.
Post earned All-PSAC East Second Team honors at tight end. He tied for second on the team with four touchdowns. The Sellersville native brought in 12 receptions for a total of 129 yards. He collected touchdown receptions against Lock Haven, Kutztown, West Chester and Bloomsburg this season, recording at least one reception in eight of 11 regular season games. In addition to his pass-catching duties, the Sellersville, Pa. native has also helped one of the most successful rushing offenses in the PSAC, freeing up
Tyriq Lewis and
Tahir Mills with blocks. Post will graduate with a degree in finance and holds a GPA of 3.39.
Stuart, a fellow tight end, posted 12 receptions for 129 yards, scoring three touchdowns, along with paving the way for All-PSAC East running back
Tyriq Lewis. The Pottstown, Pa. native graduated with a degree in mathematics and is currently pursuing a master's degree in professional and secondary education, holding a GPA of 3.778. Stuart plans to return to ESU in the fall and compete during the 2024 season.
Tobias was one of three successful quarterbacks for ESU during the 2023 season, completing 62.34 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns. He finished with 511 yards, including a career-best 230 yards and four touchdowns against Pace in his first career start to lead the Warriors to a 62-9 win. The Centre Hall, Pa. native will graduate with a bachelor's degree in exercise science, holding a GPA of 3.93 GPA.
Wuestner, a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree, helped pave the way for Warriors on the successful Warrior offensive line as a starting guard. The graduate student guard from Hummelstown, Pa. graduated with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education last spring and is currently pursuing a master's degree in professional and secondary education. He holds a 3.78 GPA and plans to suit up for the Warriors next season.
An elite group of 1,988 players from 339 schools qualified for membership in 2024, setting a record for the number of members in a single year during the program's 18-year history. To be eligible, players must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 and graduate this spring/summer, and just completed their final year of eligibility or be a graduated player who has been out of high school for at least three years.
