Emily Mitarotonda and junior goalkeeper 
Abby Simonetti, the 11th-ranked East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team took down Shippensburg, 11-3, on Saturday afternoon at Robb Sports Complex.
The Warriors (10-5, 6-4 PSAC East) return to their winning ways in its final regular season road game, while the Raiders (4-12, 2-9) see their two-game winning streak snapped.
ESU and Shippensburg were tied at 1-1 after the first quarter and 2-2 early in the second frame, but the Warriors dominated from that point on, outscoring the Raiders 9-1 the rest of the way for its 10th win of the season.
Notables
	- Mitarotonda shined once again, scoring the Warriors' first five goals and finishing with nine goals. Defensively, the Rockaway, N.J. native caused three turnovers, scooped six ground balls and earned three draw controls. She turned the ball over just once. She led or tied for the game-lead in goals, ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls.
 
	- Mitarotonda now has 76 goals on the season, which is the third most in a single season in program history, trailing only her junior season (79, 2023) and her sophomore season (89, 2024).
 
	- Paige Moreland and Lauren Hallman each added goals.
 
	- Mary Fitzsimmons totaled two assists, while Moreland and Julianna Callison added helpers.
 
	- With the score tied at 2-2 Simonetti was a brick wall, allowing just one goal over the final 39:15 of the contest. The current NCAA DII leader in save percentage has now posted double-digit saves in nine games this season and four of the past five contests.
 
How It Happened 
	- The first half featured just six goals, the two squads trading goals. Mitarotonda scored all four goals in the first half. With the score tied at 2-2, Mitarotonda lifted the Warriors to a 4-2 lead with her 70th and 71st goals of the season.
 
	- After the intermission, the Warrior run continued with Mitarotonda continuing to lead the way. She scored five of the Warriors' seven goals in the second half, with Paige Moreland and Lauren Hallman each tallying goals.
 
	- SU ended the Warriors' 9-0 scoring run with a goal with 53 seconds left to wrap up the scoring.
