How It Happened
- After Kutztown scored the first goal, ESU seized momentum with three straight goals in less than three minutes. Callison, Reynolds and Mitarotonda each rocketed goals, as the Warriors to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter.
- The Golden Bears outscored ESU, 4-2, in the second frame, as Kutztown took a 5-3 edge, before Reynolds scored to knot the score at 5-5 at halftime.
- Kutztown scored three unanswered goals to begin the third quarter, but ESU cut the deficit to one with goals from Graffeo and Mitarotonda.
- Reynolds completed the hat trick and knotted the contest at 8-8 to open the scoring in the fourth quarter with 13:09 remaining, but KU's Katie Yocum lifted KU to a 9-8 lead with her first goal of the game.
- Mitarotonda saw a shot hit off the pipes with just over four minutes remaining in a near-equalizer, but the Golden Bears added insurance with a goal from Madison Wenner with just 2:03 to play. Mitarotonda won the ensuing draw control, as Reynolds earned a free-position attempt, but the shot went wide. A turnover thwarted the opportunity, as KU successfully ran out the final 75 seconds of the clock to pick up the PSAC Quarterfinal round.
