IRVING, Texas– The National Football Foundation announced on Monday morning that current East Stroudsburg University football head coach and former Harlon Hill Trophy winner, Jimmy Terwilliger '07, returns to the 2025 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. He first appeared on the ballot in 2024.
 
Terwilliger graduated with 18 NCAA Division II and two all-division records, including for career TD passes (148) and pass efficiency (170.1). He also held DII records for total offense (16,064), passing yards (14,350), total TD (161) and points responsible for (966).

"I am honored to be placed on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot," said Terwilliger of the honor. "It is surreal to be among some of the greatest players and people in football history. I am thankful for the recognition and proud to represent the East Stroudsburg University Warriors. I share this honor with every single one of my teammates and coaches who I love dearly."
 
During his Harlon Hill Trophy recipient season in 2005, the East Stroudsburg native passed for 4,571 yards, 50 TD and totaled 4,960 yards of offense on the 2005 Northeast Region championship team that posted an 11-3 record and advanced to the NCAA Semifinals.
 
He was named PSAC East Offensive Player of the Year on three occasions and was a four-time All-PSAC East selection.
 
"It's an enormous honor to just be on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot considering more than 5.7 million people have played college football and only 1,093 players have been inducted," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "The Hall's requirement of being a First-Team All-American creates a much smaller pool of about 1,500 individuals who are even eligible. Being in today's elite group means an individual is truly among the greatest to have ever played the game, and we look forward to announcing the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class early next year."
 
According to the National Football Foundation, Of the 5.7 million individuals who have played college football since Princeton first battled Rutgers on Nov. 6, 1869, only 1,093 players have earned induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, or less than two one-hundredths of a percent (.02%) of those who have played the game during the past 154 seasons. From the coaching ranks, 233 individuals have achieved Hall of Fame distinction."
 
The announcement of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2025, with specific details to be announced in the future.
 
Terwilliger enters his fifth full season as the head coach of ESU in 2024. If he is successful, Terwilliger would become the first Warrior in program history to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
