ESU Men’s Wrestling Earns PSAC Team GPA Award

LOCK HAVEN – The East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling program finished the 2023-24 academic year with the highest GPA in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to earn a PSAC Team GPA Award, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The men's wrestling team secured its first PSAC Team GPA Award in program history and sixth overall for ESU since 2011-12 as the Warriors posted a 3.073 GPA following the 2023-24 academic year.

ESU had a total of 296 student-athletes recognized earlier this week as PSAC Scholar-Athletes for owning a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher including these member of the men's wrestling team: Sebastian Adler, Luke Schirmacher, Vinny Principe, Matthew Richardson, Brian Lombardi, Josh Jasionowicz, Jacob Remolina, Robert Burke, Ben Makaritis, Matthew Murray, Eric Falleni, CJ Ross, Troy Gentzel, Christopher Anderson, Layton Schmick and Elijah Bundro.

Back on April 6, Adler, Remolina, Richardson, Schirmacher and Schmick were tabbed as NWCA Division II Scholar All-Americans after recording a minimum 3.5 GPA.

As a department, ESU's student-athletes ranked sixth overall in the PSAC in cumulative student-athlete GPA following the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.373 GPA.
