GENEVA, Ohio — Luke Ciampa '26 made it to the finals, finishing in second place in the 2026 U23 World Team Trials.
 
Ciampa got off to a perfect 4-0 start, cruising to the finals. In the first round, he defeated Zach Smith from Riggs Wrestling Academy by technical fall, 11-0, 0:33. His next two wins were also by technical fall, beating Jude Randall of Southwest Wrestling Club and Jake Prudek of Tiger Wrestling Club. Neither opponent scored more than two points against him in the matches. In the semifinals, he took down TJ Schierl in a 9-5 decision win. Michael Baldwin from West Virginia Regional would take the final match, giving Ciampa second place in the 77 kg bracket.
