EAST STROUDBSURG – Last week, East Stroudsburg University women's swimmer Vera Renshof was named Scholar All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

Renshof, who majors in public health, was named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team for the first time in his career after posting a 3.62 GPA to date.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.

In the pool, Renshof delivered an impressive sophomore campaign as she became the first Warrior since 1981 to finish as high as second in an individual event at the PSAC Championships, earning silver in the 50-yd freestyle with a school record time of 23.49. She earned a total of three podium spots at the conference meet, taking third in the 100-yd freestyle and fifth in the 200-yd freestyle. The Netherlands native already holds program records in the 50-free (23.49), 100-free (51:03) and 200 free (1:51.90) as a sophomore.

Renshof, who helped ESU to Scholar All-America Team status for the spring 2024 semester, is a two-time PSAC Scholar Athlete and was honored on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team back on April 2.
