BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – In a scoreless game in the 78th minute, redshirt junior Abby James registered the eventual game-winning goal to lift the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team past Bloomsburg, 1-0, in the PSAC East opener on Wednesday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.
The Warriors (2-0, 1-0 PSAC East) hand the Huskies (2-1, 0-1 PSAC East) their first loss of the season.

James found the back of the net after an impressive pass from Maddie Lamb, setting James up in open space.
Bloomsburg led in shots (18-13), ESU was more accurate, holding a 8-5 advantage on shots on goal.
The Huskies totaled 11 corner kicks, while the Warriors had just one opportunity.
ESU goalkeeper Emmy Clarkson (2-0) registered her second consecutive shutout and the 16th in her career, tallying four saves in goal in the clean sheet. Bloomsburg's Samantha Merklin made seven saves in the loss.
James and Rebecca Kotula each posted three shots on goal to lead the squad.
