EAST STROUDSBURG -- The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team posted its third consecutive shutout victory to open the season, downing No. 19 West Chester, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Warriors (3-0, 2-0 PSAC East) remain perfect on the season, while the defending PSAC champion Rams (2-1, 1-1 PSAC East) fall for the first time in 2024.

Sydnie Wright in the 32nd minute of play proved to be the game-winner for the Warriors. Wright checked into the game at the 29-minute mark and made her impact felt just three minutes later with the goal.
Notables
- Wright opened and closed the scoring with her first goal of the season and the third of her career.
- Natalie Schooley notched her first assist of the season.
- Emmy Clarkson logged her 3rd consecutive clean sheet of the season and the 17th of her career. The Walkersville, Md. native totaled four saves in the victory.
- West Chester led in shots (7-6), shots on goal (4-3) and corner kicks (4-1).
