BLOOMSBURG – With a beautiful game-tying goal in the 67th minute, the East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team secured a point in the PSAC East standings with a 1-1 draw with Bloomsburg on Wednesday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.
The Warriors (1-0-1, 0-0-1 PSAC East) turn their head to Shepherd on Saturday for their home opener. The Huskies (3-1-1, 0-0-1) seek their first conference win on Saturday at West Chester.
Notables
- Cayetano Diaz headed in an impressive exchange that started with a cross-field pass from Jose Rosario to Ignasi Cucurella Tuset. Cucurella Tuset was able to redirect the pass to Diaz with his head, as Diaz connected on the header goal to tie the contest at 1-1.
- The Huskies opened the scoring in the 56th minute, with Patrick Walsh registering a goal off of passes from Parker Nickelsen and Kody Besser.
- GK Helgi Hermannsson tallied three saves in the complete 90-minute game. BU's Brady Rimple countered with eight stops.
- ESU led in shots (13-9) and shots on goal (10-4). Bloomsburg held a slim edge in corners (4-3).
- The chippy contest featured nine cards, with ESU receiving seven yellows, while BU was assessed with two.
