EAST STROUDSBURG – In conjunction with the East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team's match against Shippensburg on Saturday, Oct. 5, the Warriors will hold their annual Jerry Sheska Alumni Social following the contest.
The contest at Eiler-Martin Stadium against the Raiders is set to begin at 4 p.m., with the annual social starting at 6:30 p.m. at Marita's Cantina, located at 735 Main St. in Stroudsburg. There is no cost to attend the social.
"We are excited to welcome our alumni back to campus for this thrilling weekend of soccer and camaraderie," said ESU men's soccer head coach Tom Mustac '03M '09. "The Coach Jerry Sheska Social is not just about celebrating the past but also about connecting with our ESU soccer family and building a bright future for our program."
Jerry Sheska is ESU's all-time wins leader for men's soccer, coaching the Warriors for 29 seasons from 1982 to 2010 and compiling an impressive 424-156-32 record and 15 PSAC championships. He ranks 10th in victories as a head coach at an NCAA Division II school. A 1999 inductee into the ESU Athletic Hall of Fame as both a player and coach, Sheska has led his alma mater to 16 NCAA Division II tournament appearances. He has coached 69 individual All-PSAC selections, including nine Players of the Year and 17 All-Americans during his career.
