Golden Anniversary
ESU's first varsity volleyball team—the 1974 squad—was honored following the second set against Kutztown. The Warriors are celebrating their 50th season as a varsity sport. In 1974, ESU posted a 6-2 overall record in its inaugural season under head coach Diane Spitler, with wins over Penn State, Pitt, Franklin & Marshall, Trenton State, Temple, and Princeton. The Warriors also earned an EAIAW Regional Tournament victory over UConn.

Kutztown narrowed the gap to 13-8 after a 6-2 run, but ESU responded with four of the next five points to extend the lead to 17-9. The Warriors closed the set on an 8-3 run to win 25-15.
