EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University athletic department has announced its third annual "Salute to Women's Sports" in honor of National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15, inside Koehler Fieldhouse.

Festivities will occur in conjunction with ESU's women's and men's basketball doubleheader against Shippensburg at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. The event will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1994-95 PSAC Champion and NCAA Tournament Warriors women's basketball team.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink, as the contest also serves as the program's Play4Kay game.

Honoring the 1994-95 PSAC Champion Warriors
Coached by Rose Haller and led by the "Killer P's"—the late Stacy Perryman and center Lori Pio—the Warriors won their first PSAC championship in program history. They finished with a 25-5 record, captured back-to-back PSAC Eastern Division titles, won the Rotary Pocono Classic, and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. ESU hosted the PSAC Final Four for the first time, defeating Shippensburg (80-69) and then toppling two-time defending champion Clarion (80-71) in the championship game.

Perryman was named the tournament's outstanding player after posting 31 points in the title game and 24 in the semifinal. Pio shot 15-for-20 in the two games for a combined 39 points. Three days later, the Warriors again defeated Clarion in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Saint Rose to conclude a historic season. ESU went 18-1 at Koehler Fieldhouse in 1994-95. Perryman was named to three first team all-region teams, earned All-PSAC East First Team and Player of the Year honors, and garnered NCAA Division II All-America honorable mention recognition.
