EAST STROUDSBURG -- Following an All-PSAC East First Team performance on the field, East Stroudsburg University offensive lineman Raymond Christas was named to the prestigious College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

A two-time captain and four-year starter, Christas earned All-PSAC East First Team honors this past season after being named to the second team in 2023.

Anchoring the offensive line, he helped the Warriors rank among the national leaders in multiple categories: third in tackles for loss allowed, fifth in sacks allowed, 13th in red-zone offense, 17th in rushing offense, 19th in total offense, and 21st in scoring offense. He also paved the way for All-PSAC East First Team running backs Tyriq Lewis and Tahir Mills, who combined for 1,760 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.

A graduate student, Christas completed his bachelor's degree in health and physical education with a 3.94 GPA and is pursuing a master's in exercise science. He has earned CSC Academic All-District honors each of the past three seasons.

Christas becomes the first Warrior to earn Academic All-America® First Team honors since Devon Ackerman earned the honor in three consecutive seasons from 2015 to 2017. He is now just the seventh Warrior in program history to earn Academic All-America® First Team honors.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
