EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team, ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region, battled to a 0-0 draw against Bloomsburg on Wednesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The visiting Huskies entered the match ranked third in the region and receiving votes in the national poll.
Neither team could find the back of the net over 90 minutes of play, resulting in a scoreless tie.
ESU goalkeeper
Kevin Kretschman made two saves to secure the shutout for the Warriors, matching the two saves made by Bloomsburg's goalie, Peter Punchello. Kretschman saved a shot in each half to keep the game level.
The Warriors outshot the Huskies 13-7 and held a significant advantage in corner kicks, 6-2. Sophomore
Darryl Longdon led the ESU attack with four shots. Forwards
Ryan Kiernan and
Jace Seara each recorded a shot on goal for the Warriors.
