SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.V. – The East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team secured a conference road victory, shutting out Shepherd 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Shepherd Soccer Complex.
The Warriors, who entered the match following a scoreless draw against Bloomsburg, found the back of the net once in each half to move past the Rams.
It was
Ethan Flickinger who put ESU on the board first, scoring the opening goal in the 17th minute (17:36). Flickinger's goal gave the Warriors a 1-0 advantage which they carried into halftime.
The Warriors solidified their lead late in the second half when
Ryan Kiernan netted the insurance goal at the 79:01 mark. The scoring strike was set up by an assist from
Hunter Stites.
Goalkeeper
Kevin Kretschman played the full 90 minutes in goal for East Stroudsburg University, recording four saves on the afternoon to maintain the clean sheet. Shepherd attempted nine total shots, with four placed on target, but Kretschman turned away every attempt.
