Clarkson Makes 12 Saves, but Warriors Fall to West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team fell in a hard fought contest 2-0 to West Chester in a PSAC East match on Wednesday afternoon at Rockwell Field.
 
Notables
ESU goalkeeper Emmilia Clarkson made an impressive 12 saves, facing a total of 23 shots (14 on goal) from West Chester.

Jade Wiley led the Warriors with three shots (one on goal), while Catherine Reeves, Sydney Hornberger, and Rylee Spakowski also registered shots on goal.
 
How it Happened
West Chester scored a goal late in each half to secure the victory. The Golden Rams got on the board in the 44th minute when Lauren Reimold found the back of the net, assisted by Victoria Pungello, to make it 1-0. The score remained unchanged until the 84th minute when Kianna Barber scored off an assist from Jenna Fox to extend the lead to 2-0, which would be the final score.
 
Up Next
This was the first in a five-match road trip for the Warriors. ESU will look to bounce back at Mansfield on Saturday, October 4 at 12 pm.
