12/17/2025 11:00:00 AM

WACO, Texas — The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) revealed its 2025 Division II Coaches All-America Teams, announcing Ty Quintois as a member of the Second Team Special Teams unit.

Quintois, a two-time PSAC East Offensive First Team member in 2024 and 2025, was one of the most dependable kickers in Division II. The junior went 45-for-46 on PATs, including nine makes in a single game. His 45 successful PATs were the seventh-most in a season in school history, the most since Nicolas Ruiz recorded 50 in 2015. Quintois scored 69 points between the 45 PATs and eight field goals, averaging 6.3 PPG. On kickoffs, Quintois totaled 3,800 yards on 60 attempts, good for 63.3 yards per attempt. He booted 27 touchbacks while only having one kickoff go out of bounds.

Quintois becomes the third kicker in ESU history to earn AFCA All-America honors, joining Devin Bartholomew (2022) and Jordan Walters (2019). He is the 10th Warrior total to earn AFCA All-America status since Willard Stem became the first in 1975.

The five teams now chosen for each AFCA division evolved from a single 11-player squad in 1945. From 1945 until 1967, only one team was chosen. From 1967 through 1971, two teams – University Division and College Division – were selected. In 1972, the College Division was split into College I and College II. In 1979, the University Division was split into two teams — FBS and FCS. In 1996, the College I and College II teams were renamed Division II and Division III, respectively. In 2006, the AFCA started selecting an NAIA-only team. In 2016, the AFCA added a second team All-America.

From 1965-81, a 22-player (11 offensive, 11 defensive) team was chosen. In 1982, a punter and placekicker were added to the team. In 1997, a return specialist was added. The return specialist position was replaced by an all-purpose player in 2006. A third wide receiver was added in 2024.
