Women's Basketball Drops Hard-Fought Contest to No. 10 IUP

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg women's basketball team battled but came up short against No. 10 Indiana (Pa.) in their final game of 2025 on Sunday.  

With the loss, the Warriors moved to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in PSAC play, while the Crimson Hawks remained unbeaten at 10-0 and improved to 4-0 in conference action. 

Notables 

Brie Droege led the team with 13 points and seven rebounds. Lacie Kringe added 12 points and Avery White followed with 10. White made two three-pointers and grabbed five rebounds, along with posting one block and one steal. Both Kringe and Devine recorded three steals and grabbed four rebounds each. 

How it happened 

Brie scored the first basket of the game at 8:30 and was assisted by Devine. ESU took the lead at 8-5 after Devine and White each made a three-pointer. IUP went on a 6-0 run that ended with a Brie layup at 2:29. IUP added a layup, and Kringe made both free throws to close out the first quarter.  

ESU remained within four points until IUP stretched its lead to eight, 28-20, to head into the half.  

In the third quarter, Devine made the first basket, and Brie followed with a three-pointer at 7:59 to cut the deficit to seven, 32-25. Brooke added a jumper at 4:54, and a steal by Kringe led to a Droege jumper at 3:44. Kringe scored the Warriors' final six points, as ESU trailed 49-36 heading into the fourth. 

ESU continued to battle back in the final period, as baskets from Skylar Soltis, Brooke, and Kringe narrowed the margin to 10. White hit a three-pointer at 4:14 and was followed by a layup from Brie. White then made two free throws to bring the Warriors within three, 52-49, with 1:14 remaining. The Crimson Hawks finished the game with a layup and two made free throws.

The Warriors return to action on Friday, January 2, when they travel to California (Pa.).
