LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released Tuesday afternoon its first Fall Academic All-Conference Teams, with ESU leading the PSAC with 32 student-athletes earning the distinction.
Eligible teams for the Fall 2025 team are men's and women's soccer, football, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, and field hockey. East Stroudsburg's 32 Academic All-Conference student-athletes were the most in the conference, with Slippery Rock boasting the second-most overall with 29 and Bloomsburg trailing in the PSAC East with 27. Of the 32 total student-athletes, the ESU field hockey team placed the most on the list between all East Stroudsburg programs with nine players. On the men's side, the ESU football team led the way with seven honorees. The Warriors had the most field hockey student-athletes and fourth-most football student-athletes in the announcement.
The new honor was created to increase academic recognition for high-achieving student-athletes, which was a priority for the Conference's membership highlighted in
its most recent Strategic Plan. The Academic All-Conference teams have been adopted with the following requirements:
- Undergraduate and Graduate Student-Athletes must have completed two seasons of eligibility at the nominating campus AND four semesters academically – with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- Student-athletes must have met a minimum of participation requirements. For team sport selections, this includes playing in 70% of a team's contests (through the conference championship date.) For individual sports, there are unique participation requirements that are detailed in this document.
Recognition is based solely on meeting the above criteria. GPAs were calculated through the previous completed semester (Spring 2025).
In total, 345 student-athletes across all 17 PSAC institutions qualified for the Fall 2025 PSAC Academic All-Conference Teams.
