BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team defeated Bloomsburg, 90-60, Wednesday.
The Warriors (18-5, 12-4 PSAC) handled the Huskies (5-19, 4-13) in convincing fashion to continue their push for the No. 1 seed in the PSAC East.
Notables
Lakeem McAliley, after his performance, is now second all-time in program history in scoring with 1,867 points. Against Bloomsburg, McAliley scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting and blocked two shots.
Ethan Millirons had another hot shooting night, hitting 4-of-6 from three-point range, including three in a row within a minute. Millirons finished with 14 points.
Evan Morton had a game-high four steals and contributed 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
Jalen Pichardo led all players on either team with 12 rebounds and added three assists.
How It Happened
Bloomsburg managed to tie the game for the final time just 2:29 into the game at 4-4. From that point on, the Warriors took control and dominated the first half, taking a 47-29 lead at the break.
Earlier in the first half, at the 5:35 mark,
Cam Young dished a pass to McAliley, who laid it in to move up to No. 2 on ESU's all-time scoring list.
In the second half, the Warriors continued to pile it on, building a lead as large as 39 points at the 7:12 mark when freshman
Jaden Kelly nailed a three-pointer following a
Shemar Wilbanks-Acqui steal.
ESU would go on to win by 30 and move closer to the PSAC East-leading Golden Rams following West Chester's loss that night and just trail by a game in the loss column.

The Warriors will return home on Saturday to face the Raiders, who just beat the Golden Rams. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, and the game will also serve as Alumni Day.
