MANSFIELD, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team completed its season sweep of Mansfield with a 76-55 victory.
The Warriors (12-13, 9-10) remain in sixth place in the PSAC East but still have a chance to move up, depending on the outcome of the final two games for ESU and other teams in the conference. The Mountaineers (5-15, 9-17) will play their final game of the season at Shippensburg next Saturday.
 
Notables
Emily Chmiel continued to impress, recording a 29-point, 18-rebound double-double that also included three assists and 59% shooting. Chmiel is now just 11 points shy of setting the school record for most points in a season.
Brie Droege once again finished in double figures, scoring 11 points while grabbing six rebounds and four steals.
Cassidy Saylor added a season-high 10 points on 44% shooting.
ESU outscored Mansfield in every quarter, with the biggest margin coming in the second quarter. The Warriors scored 20 points while limiting the Mountaineers to just eight.
In two games between these two squads, the Warriors have won both by an average margin of 20.5 points.
 
How It Happened
With ESU up by four and 6:31 remaining in the second quarter, the Warriors went on a 14-3 run to close the half with a 15-point lead.
Later in the third quarter, ESU built a lead as large as 21 points after a 
Jessica Polin three-pointer and Chmiel's free throws. Mansfield responded, trimming the margin back to 16 with a quick basket in the final 18 seconds of the period.
The Warriors maintained a lead of 20 or more points throughout most of the fourth quarter, securing the 76-55 win.
