Emily Chmiel Earns WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, First All-American in 30 Years

3/20/2025 2:21:00 PM

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - East Stroudsburg University women's basketball senior Emily Chmiel was named a 2025 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America honorable mention.

Chmiel becomes just the fourth Warrior in program history to earn All-America honors. She joins Stacy Perryman (1995), Gaye Chapman (1994) and Tonia Lloyd (1990) as the only Warriors to receive the honor. The aforementioned Warriors were named All-America honorable mention by Kodak.

Chmiel completed her career as one of the most accomplished players in school history. She was selected to the All-PSAC East first team, became the program's first all-region first-team selection in 29 years, and scored the most points in a season by a Warrior.

Over 28 games, Chmiel was one of the conference's top players. She led the PSAC in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 22.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field.

Chmiel led the nation with 24 double-doubles, ranked fourth with 344 rebounds, third in rebounds per game, and was among the top 10 in scoring.

She is one of three PSAC women's basketball players to earn All-America honors, as Morgan Gentile of Edinboro and Michelle Kozicki of West Chester were also honorable mentions.

The WBCA NCAA Division II Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Coaches' All-America team are selected by the WBCA NCAA Division II Awards Committee from nominees submitted by WBCA member coaches.
