Warriors notch first PSAC win since 2019, defeating the Marauders on the road.

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University tennis team continued its strong season with a narrow 4-3 victory over Millersville University on Sunday afternoon at the McComsey Tennis Courts.

With the win, the Warriors improved to 11-5 on the season. The team earned the first PSAC victory since season 2018-19, and took over the Marauders after 7 years.

How It Happened in Doubles
In No. 1 doubles, the duo of Marketa Beladova and Louise Boyer-Vidal delivered a strong performance, securing a 6-3 win over Hui Jen Soo and Lauren Hayes to give ESU an early edge.
However, Millersville responded in No. 2 doubles as Chloe Abramowitz and Luci Consigliere bested Lea Stefanovic and Ariel Kelsick 6-3.
The doubles point was ultimately decided in No. 3 doubles, where Bega Gotor and Claudia Ermina battled but fell in a tight 7-5 match to Sophie Lanius and Yasmin Scott, giving Millersville the advantage heading into singles play.

How It Happened in Singles
In No. 1 singles, Marketa Beladova dominated her matchup, defeating Hui Jen Soo 6-3, 6-1 to get ESU on the board.
Millersville struck back in No. 2 singles as Lauren Hayes edged Lea Stefanovic in a close 6-4, 7-5 battle.
Millersville continued their push in No. 3 singles, where Chloe Abramowitz claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Louise Boyer-Vidal.
East Stroudsburg found its rhythm in the bottom half of the singles lineup, starting with Ariel Kelsick, who powered through to defeat Luci Consigliere 6-2, 6-3 in No. 4 singles.
In No. 5 singles, Gianina Speranza delivered in the clutch moments, taking down Sophie Lanius 6-3, 7-5 in a hard-fought match.
The decisive victory came at No. 6 singles, where Bega Gotor showcased her resilience, outlasting Yasmin Scott 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 to clinch the win for ESU.

The Warriors will return home for their next matchup on Wednesday, April 2nd against West Chester University at 4:00 p.m. at Stroudsburg High School.
