NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) ranked East Stroudsburg University at No. 11 in the latest IWLCA Division II Top 25 poll.
After a strong week, the Warriors finished 2-0 with dominant victories over Bloomsburg and Shippensburg.
The Warriors started the week off with a commanding victory over the Huskies. This game saw nine total Warriors record a goal with Sadie Kauffman leading the way with four goals in a 14-5 victory.
Goalkeeper Abby Simonetti proved why she is one of the best in the nation, tallying 23 saves in two games and setting a new season high with 18 saves against Shippensburg.
Against Shippensburg, the Warriors took an early lead and didn't look back. Lauren Hallman had a strong performance with three goals, one assist, while scooping up three ground balls and causing two turnovers. Ariana Tucci and Sadie Kauffman combined for six goals on the way to a 13-7 win over the Raiders.
East Stroudsburg has climbed up to second in Division II for save percentage.
The Warriors return to Whitenight Field for a big PSAC East home matchup against No.1 West Chester on Wednesday, April 2nd.
