No. 10 Warriors Sweep Marauders as Davenport Reaches 600 Strikeouts, Weirich Sets Single-Season RBI Record

EAST STROUSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University softball team swept Millersville (4-1, 4-3) on Friday, highlighted by a major milestone and another record-setting performance.

The Warriors (36-9-1, 20-5-1 PSAC East) rode a dominant pitching performance from Sarah Davenport in Game 1, then rallied for a Game 2 victory behind late-game heroics, including Abigail Weirich's go-ahead double.

Millersville (22-24, 6-20 PSAC East) couldn't hold onto leads in either contest and dropped its ninth straight game.

Notables
Sarah Davenport tossed a complete-game two-hitter with 13 strikeouts, becoming the first Warrior to reach 600 career strikeouts. Earlier this season, she also became the first to reach 500. Davenport now sits at 604 career strikeouts.

Abigail Weirich had two hits and drove in three runs on the day during an eventful doubleheader. In Game 1, she set the program's single-season RBI record. Weirich now holds both the career (150) and single-season (54) RBI records. In Game 2, she hit a go-ahead two-RBI single that proved to be the game-winner.

Tatum Kresley recorded three hits on the day, including an RBI single.

Tulana Mingin also tallied three hits across both games, highlighted by a two-RBI double.

How It Happened: Game 1
Millersville struck first, but the visitors' lead was short-lived. In the bottom of the first, Mingin ripped a two-RBI double to left field to put the Warriors in front. Weirich followed with a triple to left, setting the single-season RBI record, then scored on Delaney Ridgell's sacrifice fly to make it 4-1 — a score that held the rest of the way as Davenport was dominant, silencing the Marauders en route to the Game 1 win.

How It Happened: Game 2
This time, the Warriors jumped out early with an RBI from Katie Master in the second inning. Millersville tied the game in the third and added two more in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, Taylor Lipkins kept the inning alive with a two-out single. Kresley followed with a single to drive in Maddy Pritchard. After a base hit by Mingin loaded the bases, Weirich delivered again — lining a two-RBI single to left to give the Warriors a 4-3 lead.

Abbie Landrum entered in relief and tossed two shutout innings to secure the save and complete the doubleheader sweep.
