EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Following a historic campaign, five student-athletes from the East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse team were named to the 2025 IWLCA All-Region Teams, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced Tuesday.
Sophomore defender Molly Atwell (First Team), freshman attack Sadie Kauffman (First Team), and senior goalkeeper Abby Simonetti (First Team) were joined by junior midfielder Lauren Hallman (Second Team) and sophomore attack Ariana Tucci (Second Team) in earning regional recognition
.
Kauffman delivered one of the most prolific freshman seasons in NCAA lacrosse history, finishing with 103 goals, 26 assists, and 129 points, breaking ESU's single-season records for both goals and points. She ranked second in the PSAC in both goals and points, fourth in NCAA Division II, and was the only freshman in any NCAA division to eclipse 100 points in 2025 (minimum 21 games played). She also led the team with 97 draw controls, scored in every game, and recorded 12 straight hat tricks.
Simonetti, the PSAC Defensive Player of the Year, capped her stellar career as one of the top goalkeepers in the nation. She led all of Division II in save percentage (.560) and total saves (246), and posted a 9.42 goals-against average, among the best in the PSAC. She recorded double-digit saves in 10 games, including a clutch 18-save performance vs. West Chester.
A key anchor on defense, Atwell recorded 40 caused turnovers, 36 draw controls, and 25 ground balls, frequently assigned to shut down the opposing team's top scoring threat. She ranked top five in the PSAC in caused turnovers and led the Warriors in defensive stops as the team's primary matchup defender.
Hallman posted a career-best 38 goals and 14 assists for 52 points, while continuing to be one of the Warriors' most reliable two-way players. She added 32 ground balls and scored a team-high five game-winning goals, ranking top 10 among PSAC midfielders in both goals and points.
Tucci emerged as one of the most efficient scorers in the region, finishing the season with 51 goals, 19 assists, and 70 points. She ranked top 10 in the PSAC in goals and top 15 in the Atlantic Region in total points, showcasing a combination of quickness and scoring precision.
All five honorees are now eligible for IWLCA All-America honors, which will be announced on May 21.
