PUEBLO, Colo. — On the opening day of the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships,
Anthony Voto (hammer throw) and
Bryson Gilchrist (long jump) began competition for the East Stroudsburg University track and field teams on Thursday.
Voto recorded a throw of 57.58 meters (188 feet, 11 inches) on his second attempt, earning a 14th-place finish. He is the third Warrior to compete in the hammer throw at the NCAA championships and the first since 2016 when Travis Toth competed in his third outdoor championships.
Gilchrist placed 17th in the long jump with a mark of 7.19 meters (23 feet, 7 1/4 inches) on his first attempt. He is the fourth Warrior to compete in the long jump at the championships, the last Warrior was Donavan Anderson in 2023.
