East Stroudsburg, PA – June 16, 2025 – College Sports Communicators has announced the 2025 Academic All-America® Softball Teams, and East Stroudsburg University is proudly represented by outfielder Abigail Weirich and catcher Delaney Ridgell, two scholar-athletes who have combined classroom excellence with athletic dominance.
Weirich, a senior Exercise Science major, landed on the Second Team Academic All-America® list, capping a season in which she was also named PSAC Player of the Year, and earned First Team All-PSAC and All-Region honors. She led the Warriors with 82 hits, 61 RBIs, 17 doubles, 6 home runs, and a stellar .398 batting average, anchoring the offense with consistency and power. In the field, she posted a .968 fielding percentage, underscoring her all-around impact.
Ridgell, a junior Political Science major, earned Third Team Academic All-America® recognition, while also securing First Team All-PSAC and All-Region selections. She achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, one of only thirteen Division II honorees to do so. On the diamond, Ridgell hit .348 with 63 hits, 62 RBIs, 12 doubles, 10 home runs, and was a defensive leader with a .994 fielding percentage, catching 5 runners stealing and committing just 3 errors over 60 games.
The Academic All-America® program, coordinated by College Sports Communicators and financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure, celebrates student-athletes who set the standard in academics and athletics. With these honors, Weirich and Ridgell not only raise the bar at East Stroudsburg University, but across collegiate softball as a whole.
