East Stroudsburg, PA — East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is thrilled to celebrate another significant milestone in its athletic history. Emily Chmiel, a 6-foot-2 forward/center, has signed a professional basketball contract with SBS Ostrava, a top-tier women's club based in the Czech Republic.
While Chmiel is not the first ESU Women's Basketball player to reach the professional ranks, her signing underscores the ongoing success and talent development within the program. She joins a growing legacy of Warriors making their mark internationally.
A dominant force in NCAA Division II, Chmiel led the nation with 24 double-doubles across 28 games during her senior campaign. Her stellar performance—including averages of 22.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game—earned her widespread recognition. She shot 52.0 percent from the field and 77.4 percent from the line.
