EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.- East Stroudsburg University (ESU) is set to begin its 2025 football season on Thursday, August 28, hosting Edinboro University at Eiler-Martin Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
ESU has established a strong record against Edinboro, winning 11 of the 16 all-time meetings. The Warriors secured a 24–12 road victory last August, marking their second consecutive win in the series. Over the past ten contests, ESU has claimed victory seven times. The 2015 meeting saw the Warriors achieve their largest margin of victory, a decisive 56–12 win at home, while the narrowest result came in 2011, when ESU edged Edinboro 27–26. At Eiler-Martin Stadium, the Warriors have a dominant 7–1 mark, and the series is even at 4–4 in games played at Edinboro.
The Warriors enter the new season following a 2024 campaign where they led the PSAC in total offense and scoring, posting 2,402 rushing yards and 53 total touchdowns. The roster features six returning All-PSAC Eastern Division honorees, including First Team All-PSAC placekicker
Ty Quintois and Second Team tight end
Beau Heyser. On defense, standout
Everette Dingle, a First Team All-PSAC and All-Super Region defensive back, is joined by Second Team selections
Jake Williamson (defensive line),
Malachi Bowman (defensive back), and
Adam Noll (punter).
Quarterback
Sean McTaggart returns after throwing for 2,590 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 65.4% completion rate last season. Wide receiver
Evan Roche provides a reliable option on the outside. In the backfield, running back
Deante Crawford adds a dynamic rushing threat, building on a strong campaign last season.
With a proven track record and a roster full of experienced playmakers, ESU is poised to start the 2025 season on a high note and continue building on its recent success against Edinboro.
