EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team salvaged a 1-1 draw with Shepherd University in a PSAC East match on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Rams got on the scoreboard in the seventh minute after senior Erika Moore (Mt. Airy, Md.) scored off helpers from junior Reagan Ackermann (Myersville, Md.) and senior Josie Beezel (Woodsboro, Md.) to make the score 1-0.
That score held until sophomore
Jade Wiley netted the equalizer for the Warriors in the 40
th minute on an unassisted tally to tie the score at 1-1, the eventual final.
Senior Emmy Clarkson converted seven saves in goal in the tie. Hannah Wilt played 83:43 in goal for Shepherd and allowed one goal.
The Rams held a 13-1 advantage in shots and had nine corners to East Stroudsburg's zero.
East Stroudsburg (0-0-3 overall, 0-0-3 PSAC East) will remain home for a non-conference match against Georgian Court University on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. Shepherd (1-0-2 overall, 1-0-2 PSAC East) returns to the pitch on Wednesday at Kutztown University at 7:00 p.m.
