EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 18 ranked East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team rallied from a goal down for a 2-1 win over Adelphi University on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference clash at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Panthers were the first to strike when sophomore Ryan Holt (London, England) found the back of the net high left in the 13
th minute with the helper going to classmate Matthew Murphy (Stamford, England) to give Adelphi the 1-0 advantage.
The Warriors tied things up when sophomore
Matt Johnson registered his first goal of the season in the 45th minute coming off an assist from freshman
Jack Mauro.
East Stroudsburg tallied the game-winner in the 58

Owen Rennie deposited his third goal of the season, tying the team lead for goals scored. The helper was awarded to sophomore
Ryan Kiernan.
Junior
Kevin Kretschman collected one save in goal in the victory for the Warriors. Senior Andrea Farinella (Ferrara, Italy) made four saves in the setback for the Panthers.
East Stroudsburg held a slight 7-5 edge in shots while the Warriors had eight corner kicks to Adelphi's one.
East Stroudsburg (3-1-0 overall) begins a three-match road trip on Wednesday, September 17 at St. Thomas Aquinas College at 3:00 p.m. Adelphi (1-1-1 overall) next hosts Molloy University on Tuesday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m.
