LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team fell to Lock Haven University in a 2-0 final on Friday afternoon at Hubert Jack Stadium.
After a scoreless opening half, sophomore Carter Rosno (Corning, N.Y.) put the Bald Eagles in front with a goal in the 53
rd minute, scoring low center with the assist going to junior Kyle Hoyt (Harrisburg, Pa.).
Lock Haven tallied an insurance goal in the 84
th minute when freshman Noah Brady (Wrightsville, Pa.) found the back of the net off a helper from junior Scott Manning (New Plymouth, New Zealand) to extend the margin to 2-0, the eventual final.
Sophomore Ethan Beck (Lititz, Pa.) recorded three saves in the win for the Bald Eagles while junior
Kevin Kretschman (Glenside, Pa.) registered two stops in goal for the Warriors.
The teams were even in shots with 11 apiece. Sophomore
Darryl Longdon (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) paced East Stroudsburg with four shots. Lock Haven edged the Warriors in corner kicks, 6-4.
East Stroudsburg (3-3-1 overall) will return to action on Wednesday, October 1 at home against Bloomsburg University at 7:00 p.m. Lock Haven (4-3-1 overall) next travels to Slippery Rock University for a conference tilt on 4:00 p.m.
