MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team faced off against the Millersville Marauders in their first PSAC game of the season. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Warriors controlled much of the first half, with 4 shots on goal, but were unable to break through the Marauders' defense. On the other end of the field, the Warriors' backline was able to keep Millersville from having a single shot on goal for the first 45 minutes. Both teams entered halftime in a scoreless tie.
Millersville struck first just a few minutes into the second half, as Maia Iannuzzi scored off a corner kick, with an assist from Sara Edwards.
It was not until the 86
th minute when ESU's
McKenna Chisholm buried a free kick into the top of the net to level the match.
Warriors pressed in the final minutes, but were unable to find a game winner, settling for a point in the 1-1 draw.
