PREVIEW: Warriors Welcome Lock Haven for Midweek Home Contest

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team hosts Lock Haven for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m.

EAST STROUDSBURG NOTES    

  • The ESU women's basketball team hosts Lock Haven on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. inside Koehler Fieldhouse. 
  • The Warriors are coming off a three-game week that included wins over Mansfield and Shippensburg, along with a loss to Bloomsburg. 
  • Brooke Droege has ESU's lone PSAC East Athlete of the Week award so far this season, winning the honor on Nov. 18. She totaled 35 points, 15 rebounds, eight steals, and three blocks across two games.    
  • Consecutive starters for the Warriors have been Lacie Kringe, Avery White, Brooke Droege, Brie Droege, and Caitlin Marten.  With this lineup, the Warriors have gone 8-5. This past week, Lilly Riggi has started in place of Brooke. 
  • The Warriors average 64.8 PPG, 37.4 RPG, 15.4 APG, 10.9 SPG, and have shot 39.7% from the field.    
  • Against PSAC opponents, the Warriors average 66.7 PPG, 36.0 RPG, 15.4 APG, 10.5 SPG, and have shot 41.3% from the field.  
  • Despite ranking 11th in the conference in scoring offense, the Warriors sit sixth in scoring defense, holding opponents to 61.4 points per game.   
  • 12 of ESU's 16 games have been decided by 10 points or fewer, with the Warriors owning a 8-4 edge in those contests.   
  • The Warriors are most productive after halftime, averaging 33.9 points in the second half versus 30.9 in the opening half.  
  • Brie paces the Warriors with 14.9 points per game and has notched nine games of 15 or more points. Her performance against Shepherd pushed her past 500 career points. 
  • She has led the team in scoring 10 times this season, including four of the last five games. 
  • Brie recorded her first career double-double against Mansfield with 17 points and 10 rebounds and grabbed her second career double-double against Shippensburg with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  
  • Brie has been an efficient scorer for the Warriors, making 47.3% of her shot attempts from the field. That figure is the eighth best in the conference.   
  • Brooke and Lacie are the other Warriors who are averaging above 10.0 PPG. Brooke averages 12.5 PPG and has recorded five games with 15+ points, while Kringe averages 10.4 PPG.  
  • The Warriors are third in the PSAC in turnover margin (3.94) and fifth in steals per game (10.94). Jess Devine leads ESU in steals per game, averaging 2.3, the 11th-most in the PSAC.   
  • Kringe leads the Warriors in rebounding, grabbing 5.5 boards per game. ESU has two others — Brie and Marten — both averaging 5.0 RPG or more.    
  • Kringe and White rank 9th and 11th respectively in the conference in assists per game.  

LOCK HAVEN NOTES  

  • The Bald Eagles enter the contest with a 10-5 overall record and 6-3 conference record.   
  • The Bald Eagles are on a four-game win streak with their last loss coming against No.5 Gannon on January 3. Since then, Lock Haven has opened the year with wins against Shepherd, Kutztown, Mansfield, and Millersville. 
  • They are coming off a 79-48 win over Millersville on Saturday. Three players notched double-doubles, and five players scored in double figures overall.
  • Lock Haven averages 70.9 PPG, 45.4 RPG, 15.4 APG, 8.9 SPG, and have shot 39.0% from the field.  
  • Lock Haven has four players that average more than 10.0 PPG and 5.0 RPG. 
  • Madeline Evans ranks ninth in the PSAC with 14.9 PPG and is first with 13.3 RPG. Evans has recorded her fourth straight double-double, and totals 13 on the season. 
  • Alana Robinson leads the team in both blocks (32) and steals (37). 
  • Lock Haven's scoring offense and defense both rank fourth in the league, while they limit their opponents to 59.9 PPG. 
  • The Bald Eagles lead the conference in rebounds per game (45.4) and rebound margin (+16.4).
  • Jenadia Jordan recorded the first triple-double in Lock Haven history against Millersville, featuring 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
  • Evans, Robinson, and Jordan have totaled seven PSAC Athlete of the Week awards so far this season.
  • Consecutive starters have been Robinson, Evans, Jordan, and Rhlyn Rouse. 

SERIES HISTORY  

  • ESU is 43-25 in all-time against Lock Haven and is 25-10 at home. The Bald Eagles won the most recent meeting, defeating the Warriors 61-57 on Mar. 1, 2025.
