EAST STROUDSBURG NOTES
- The ESU women's basketball team hosts Shepherd for its first PSAC East home game of the 2025-26 season at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Koehler Fieldhouse.
- The Warriors faltered in their last game on the road against Millersville, falling 73-66. Brie Droege led all players with 21 points on 10-15 shooting, while Lacie Kringe and Brooke Droege added 14 and 12 points, respectively. Kringe chipped in with six rebounds and two steals on the defensive end as well, as Emma Thornton came off the bench and led ESU in steals with four.
- ESU's starting five of Kringe, White, both Droeges and Caitlin Marten is 7-4 in games that lineup has begun games for the Warriors.
- Brooke Droege has ESU's lone PSAC East Athlete of the Week award so far this season, winning the honor on Nov. 18. She totaled 35 points, 15 rebounds, eight steals, and three blocks across two games.
- The Warriors average 64.4 PPG, 37.2 RPG, 15.2 APG, 11.2 SPG, and have shot 39.2% from the field.
- ESU's scoring offense ranks 12th in the PSAC while the Warriors allow the fifth-fewest points in the conference with 61.8 PPG.
- The Warriors are third in the PSAC in turnover margin (4.5) and fifth in steals per game (11.2). Jess Devine leads ESU in steals per game, averaging 2.6, the seventh-most in the PSAC.
- Brie is ESU's leading scorer, coming in with an average of 13.8 PPG. Brooke and White are the other two Warriors averaging over 10.0 PPG, putting up 11.8 and 10.1 PPG each.
- Brie has been an efficient scorer for the Warriors, making 46.3% of her shot attempts from the field. That figure is the seventh-best in the conference.
- Kringe leads the Warriors in rebounding, grabbing 5.0 boards per game. ESU has four others — Brooke, Brie, Marten, and Thornton — all averaging 4.0 RPG or more.
SHEPHERD NOTES
- The Rams enter the contest with a 2-9 overall record, still searching for their first conference win after an 0-6 start.
- Shepherd started the season with a 2-2 record but have lost seven consecutive games. The streak began Nov. 30 at Fairmont State, with four of the losses by single-digit margins.
- Neither of Shepherd's wins came in away games, as its first win of the season was at a neutral site, and they defeated Point Park in November at home.
- Shepherd is winless in its last 21 road games. The Rams went 0-11 last year in away games, with its last road win coming at ESU on Feb. 3, 2024.
- Shepherd has scored 64.2 PPG while allowing 70.0 PPG for an average margin of -5.8 PPG.
- The notable strength in Shepherd's play has been on the defensive end and creating turnovers. The Rams are third in the PSAC with 22.1 turnovers forced per game, winning the turnover margin battle by an average of 2.4 per game
- Lamaria Estridge has been the Rams' top performer to start the season, scoring 18.0 PPG on 45.1% shooting. Estridge is averaging the fourth-most PPG on the eighth-best efficiency in the conference.
- Estridge is also the Rams' leading rebounder, averaging 6.2 RPG. Jenna Liska and Trinity Turner are right behind her, with Liska grabbing 5.9 RPG and Turner securing 5.8 RPG.
- Samiyah Nasir leads Shepherd in steals per game with 2.0, 16th-most in the PSAC.
SERIES HISTORY
- ESU is 7-3 all-time against Shepherd going back to 2020. The Warriors have won the last two meetings and are 3-2 at Koehler Fieldhouse going up against the Rams.
- The Warriors won both games versus Shepherd last season, winning 68-65 at home and 58-47 on the road. Brie averaged 17.5 PPG in the season series, as Brooke also recorded 14 points in the second meeting.
